In the spirit of the festive season, the Ondo State Government has brought joy and smiles to the faces of the families of newborns. Gift items were presented to babies born between the Christmas and New Year celebrations in the state.


This heartwarming gesture is part of the State’s efforts to promote maternal and child health, as well as to celebrate the joy of new life. The gifts, which included essential baby items were presented to the proud parents of the newborns by the First Lady of Ondo State represented by Deaconess Lola Fagbemi, the Commissioner of Women Affairs and Social Development in company of Honorable Commissioner for Health, Dr. Banji Awolowo Ajaka, Director General of Ondo State Contributory Health Commission, Dr. Abiodun Oyeneyin, Directors from Ministry of Health, Ondo State Contributory Health Commission, Ondo State Primary health Care Development Board, other Dignitaries & ODCHC team.
Speaking at the event after presenting the gifts to the newborns, the First Lady emphasised the importance of teamwork between parents in the care of their children. She commended health workers for their dedication and professionalism in ensuring safe deliveries and called on them to continue their good work to improve healthcare delivery in the new year.
She assured that the government is committed to introducing initiatives and policies to protect the welfare of children in the state.
The Director General of Ondo State Contributory Health Commission, Dr. Abiodun Oyeneyin, expressed the commission’s commitment to supporting the health and well-being of mothers and children in Ondo State. Dr. Oyeneyin also announced that enrolment for ORANGHIS for the informal sector would begin in January 2025 and encouraged residents of Ondo State to invest in the insurance of their health.
The parents of the newborns were overwhelmed with gratitude and appreciation for the kind gesture.
