SITA, NMA AND PSN TO PARTNER ODCHC FOR SMOOTH TAKE-OFF OF CONTRIBUTORY HEALTH INSURANCE SCHEME IN ONDO STATE.

The State Information Technology Agency (SITA) has assured Ondo State Contributory Health Commission (ODCHC) of adequate data needed for the smooth take-off of the health scheme in the state. SSA to the Governor on ICT Hon. Olumbe Akinkugbe represented by the Permanent Secretary of the Agency Mrs. BUNMI Omotola, while receiving the management team of the Commission in his office said, SITA has the required digital capacity & adequate manpower needed for the Commission to provide quality healthcare to the door steps of the residents of the State regardless of where they live, work or play. The SSA who doubles as Chairman of the Agency said, the present Administration under the leadership of Arakunrin Oluwarotimi  Akeredolu SAN has done a lot to  upgrade the operations of SITA to  serve as infrastructural & digital backbone for all MDAs. According to Akinkugbe, shortage of internet facilities will soon become things of the past in the State as government has graciously approved broadband internet services for the use of MDAs to ensure seamless government business & services with a view to providing more social services for the people. Speaking earlier, the General Manager of the Commission, Dr. Abiodun Oyeneyin had solicited the cooperation of SITA in the area of accurate data & software development that will enable the Commission meet the health need of the greater number of residents of the State especially the rural dwellers, Dr. Oyeneyin who emphasized that it is the right of Nigerians to have un- hindered access to quality & affordable healthcare explained that the target of the Commission is to work with adequate & verifiable data of the vulnerable, public/civil servants, the organized & informal sectors at the unit & ward levels of the State. The two bodies later agreed to set up a technical team to smooth all the rough edges for effective take-off of the scheme. In the same vein, the Nigerian Medical Association and the Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria have indicated interest to collaborate with Ondo State Contributory Health Commission (ODCHC) towards the smooth running of the Health Insurance Scheme during their courtesy visit to the Commission.
