The Ekiti State Health Insurance Agency (EKHIA) has stated their readiness to follow the footsteps of the Ondo State Contributory Health Commission in achieving qualitative and affordable healthcare for all residents of their state.
This was made known during a familiarization visit of Ekiti State Health Insurance Agency to Ondo State Contributory Health Commission in Akure.
While welcoming the delegates from the agency, the Director-General, ODCHC, Dr. Abiodun Oyeneyin attributed the success of the Commission so far to the unflinching support of the people’s Governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, SAN who is not resting on his oars on the issues of welfare of Ondo state residents. He mentioned that the management team and the staff of the Commission worked assiduously to lay a good foundation and ensure sustainability of the scheme.
In his message to the EKHIA team, Dr. Oyeneyin applauded their efforts in maintaining their accredited health facilities across Ekiti State having just commenced in the year 2020.
The DG, while elucidating on the achievements of ODCHC so far in the area of Basic Healthcare provision for pregnant women and the vulnerable in Ondo State, disclosed that another feather has been added to the cap of the commission as the ORANGE Health Insurance Scheme for the formal sector will soon commence.
In his remarks, the General Manager, Ekiti State Health Insurance Agency, Dr. Olusanya Adetoye appreciated the warm reception and willingness of the ODCHC team in providing succinct answers and generally serving as inspiration to the sister state health insurance scheme.
He affirmed that EKHIA will collaborate and embrace the policies ODCHC has used so far to forge ahead in improving health insurance in their state.
